Nobody ever wants to imagine their precious pet experiencing an emergency, but the fact is accidents happen and sudden, unexpected illnesses can strike at any time. The most important thing you can do is be prepared ahead of time and know who you can turn to for your urgent veterinary care needs. Pet Med Clinic is equipped to handle the most critical cases during our regular business hours. After hours we can refer you to our local emergency clinic. Both facilities are experienced in emergency care and are prepared to step in at a moments notice to deliver the most precise, timely and effective care available. If and when an emergency strikes, you can count on us!

Our state of the art facility is outfitted with all of the equipment, tools and technology necessary to handle even the most critical of situations with swiftness and efficiency. Some of the signs that your pet may require emergency medical attention include, but are not limited to:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Choking
  • Lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Trauma (i.e. being struck by a car or suffering from a fall)
  • Broken bones
  • Ingestion of a foreign object or toxic substance
  • Inability to urinate
  • Vomiting or diarrhea that contains blood or lasts longer than 24 hours
  • Lameness
  • Heatstroke
  • Seizures
  • Unconsciousness

If your pet experiences any of these things – or something not listed here that you believe warrants emergency medical attention – please contact us immediately. We always recommend calling ahead whenever possible, as this allows us to assess the situation, provide advice and prepare the hospital for your pet’s arrival. Of course, in the event that a phone call isn’t possible, and it is during regular business hours, please bring your pet directly to the hospital for immediate care.
